MEDICAL EVENT
In the event that someone falls ill, please notify a member of the event or venue staff as soon as possible. In the event of a medical emergency please dial 111 and request an ambulance.
FLOODING / TSUNAMI
Our Visitor Services team will ensure all guests are advised and guided to the higher levels of the building. In some cases, to higher ground.
If required and/or a need of additional hands and that individuals who are able assist with those who are less accessible/mobile individuals.
Please stay together so we can account for you.
FIRE / EMERGENCY EVACUATION
All delegates and exhibitors must comply with the venue’s evacuation procedures
The venue has an automated fire alarm system which, when activated will sound throughout the building. If activated exhibitors and delegates will be requested to evacuate the building immediately.
Proceed immediately to the allocated assembly point
Follow all instructions given by the venue’s designated Fire Warden or Manager
Always walk quickly and calmly to the place of safety
Fire extinguishers, fire alarm switches, fire hoses, EDR switches and manual call points must always remain visible and accessible.
EARTHQUAKE
Quickly drop, cover and hold
Drop to the ground (to avoid falling)
Take cover under something strong, like a sturdy desk or table
Hold onto it until the shaking stops
Don’t try to run in an earthquake
Follow all instructions from venue staff
Should the fire alarm go off during an earthquake please remain under the table.
INCIDENT / NEAR-MISS REPORTING
Report any safety incidents, near misses or hazards to the conference organiser or venue staff as soon as possible
Please note: The client reserves the right to remove any person from the conference who is believed to be acting unsafely and is posing a risk to others.
TRIP HAZARD
Ensure all items are carefully stored away from thoroughfares. Do not block emergency exits
Exhibitors’ handbook specifies that stands are to be kept neat and tidy.
Regular checks will be conducted throughout the conference area
If cables/leads need to be placed across thoroughfares, they must be secure with cable covers, cloth tape, rubber mats or Velcro.
SECURITY THREATS
It will be confirmed with the venue that any other events taking place will only pose a minimal security risk.
